Graduation petition and career and placement preparation
This is probably one of the most important activities that you
should prepare well in advance. To make sure you graduate as planned,
you should apply for petition for graduation one full semester ahead.
This is to make sure all the course works you are required to fulfill
are completed by the final semester. Check with your advisor and
the record office early if you have any questions on this issue.
Placement and finding a full time work in the companies requires
not only the preparation for the interviews but also extensive research
on prospective job openings and the companies? backgrounds. So start
early and visit the placement office at any time for advice and
assistance. Also study the rule and regulations set forth by the
Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services (BCIS) for international
students regarding the Practical Training and work permit issues.
The international student counselors are always happy to provide
assistance on this matter. E-mail them or talk to them if you need
help (send email).
