Health Insurance (2012 Spring)

All international students are required to purchase the health insurance while they are studying in NPU regardless of whether they will take breaks in the current semester or not. Cost: One student $269 per semester

• If you want to join a dental and/or vision plan to get full services, you must apply online with the insurance company using your user-name and password (after you have created your online account). For information, please consult the plan administrator at 1-800-853-5899 or 1-916-231-3399.

About the Insurance Plan:
The student health insurance plan for the 2012 year is offered by Aetna Preferred Provider Network and administered by Wells Fargo of California Insurance Services, Inc. The plan includes very extensive pharmacy and doctor networks and focuses on ease of use for all members. When you visit a participating provider or pharmacy, all you will need to do is present your ID card at the time of service, and they will file all claim forms on your behalf. Very common pharmacies such as Longs, Walgreens, and Sav-On are included in the network. You can find a complete list of participating pharmacies and care facilities by visiting the website at: http://www.aetna.com/docfind/custom/studenthealth. 24-hour Nurse Advice line services are now included in the plan and can be utilized by calling (800) 556-1555. In-network doctor visit has a $30 copay at time of visit and prescription is subject to a $20 copay on Generic drugs, $30 copay on Preferred Brand Name drugs, and $50 on any Non Preferred Brand Name drugs.

You should receive your ID card within 6 weeks of the plan effective date. If you need to see a doctor or pick up a prescription prior to receiving your ID card, please contact the Plan Administrator, Wells Fargo of California Insurance Services, Inc., at 800-853-5899 and they will be glad to assist you.
