Abstract

Over the past decade, gene therapy has been broadly applied in treating life-threatening diseases, including cancer, cardiovascular disease, hereditary disease, etc. Up to Jan 2007, There are about 1260 gene therapy clinical trials going on worldwide. Recombinant Human Ad-p53 Injection, trademarked as Gendicine, developed by SiBiono GeneTech Co.,Ltd., is the world's first gene therapy medication approved by the State Food and Drug Administration of China SFDA).

To date, Gendicine has been administrated to over 5000 patients from 32 countries with distinct ethnic background. More than 50 different cancer indications were treated with significant efficacy. The most commonly observed adverse effect is self-limited fever. Based on clinical practice, Genedicine monotherapy is effective, and synergistic effects were observed when Gendicine were used in combination with conventional therapies. Moreover, accumulated clinical results indicated that Gendicine can improve patients’ quality of life and alleviate side effects caused by radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Two factors are contributed to its mechanism. One is p53 tumor suppression gene, and another Gendicine as a genetically engineered viral particle.

Many gene therapy companies have been established in the world during the past 10 years. SiBiono has established a validated production process and a comprehensive set of quality-control assays. SFDA was issued in 2003 the "Points to Consider for Human Gene Therapy and Product Quality Control" guideline.

There is no doubt that gene therapy is the science, medicine and business for the 21 century.

Biography

Zhaohui Peng, Ph.D., M.D., a well-known gene therapy expert in the world, is the founder and President of Sibiono GeneTech Co., Ltd. locked in Shenzhen, China.

Dr. Peng has been devoting himself to the research, development and commercialization of gene therapy over 17 years and has successfully made the world’s first gene therapy drug, recombinant human p53 adenoviral injection, globally trademarked name Gendicine. He worked out the points to consider for gene therapy in China, which should be the first systemic gene therapy guideline in the world.

There have been thousands of articles or media to report Dr. Peng's ground-break achievement since 2004, and he was also granted to several international awards in recognition for his great contribution to the gene therapy field and bioscience.

4/28/07: Post-Science Applications: Infallible Stock Prediction, Never-Miss Tennis, Globally Searchable ID Numbers
Topic: Post-Science Applications: Infallible Stock Prediction, Never-Miss Tennis, Globally Searchable ID Numbers
Speaker: Dr. Hugh Ching

Abstract

This seminar introduces post-science applications in four areas: (1) Stock Prediction, (2) Never-Miss Tennis, (3) Universal Permanent Numbers, and (4) Child Future Development (CFD). After a successful private stock investment, doubling every three months for a period of nine months, Post-Science Institute has started on March 26, 2007 a public stock prediction. For its first session, which has just concluded, the selected stock options have produced the rate of return of 25% in two weeks, and if it continues at this rate the annualized rate would be 2400%. The prediction of stock is still an on-going post-science project. The event is announced and reported daily in the Chinese web magazine http://www.enmages.com/Activities/dailystock.html and occasionally in other media. The stock prediction is a mechanical process based on the Infinite Spreadsheet (http://infinitespreadsheet.com). The near infallibility of the post-science stock prediction reflects the absence of any reliable solution in social science and, consequently, the complete irrationality of our society, whose decisions are all made based on the finite spreadsheet.

Another very active post-science application is Dr. Ta-You Wu’s jumpulse (http://jumpulse.com), which is the solution of touch or collision without bounce. Jumpulse is a sudden change of force, as impulse is a sudden change of momentum. The late Dr. Wu is the Father of Chinese Physics, and his jumpulse, in terms of relevance, far surpasses impulse of Isaac Newton, the Father of Western Physics. The unit of jumpulse is wu, where one wu equals one Newton. Current scientists still refuse to believe that touch is a physics problem; they try to solve the problem as a tactile or soft material problem, not as the interaction of forces during collision. Touch will thus be a worldwide knowledge debate of Wu vs. Newton, East vs. West, and post-science vs. science. Jumpulse can be demonstrated with never-miss table tennis or tennis. Jumpulse Table Tennis can also be used for Child Future Development of, say, a baby’s vision for super-fast timing resolution in its first six months and the muscle for acceleration in its first two years.

Post-science can raise human intelligence to a new level with an environment of the future characterized by jumpulse and the Infinite Spreadsheet. Universal Permanent Numbers are needed to provide Global Searchable ID Numbers and One-To-One Search Result, which are not available on Google and Yahoo. The Numbers will be remembered by completely automated software, which should be the foundation of life, or computer, science. Computer science is currently partially automated.

Biography

Dr. Hugh Ching is the founder of post-science, inventor of the Infinite Spreadsheet, Universal Permanent Numbers, Ball Control (MIT SB, SM, ScD), and a student of Dr. Ta-You Wu.
Hugh Ching has solved the two problems of value and complete automation, which are unsolved by John von Neuman, and the problem of touch, which is missed by Isaac Newton and all the scientists since Newton, and which is necessary before force can be exerted. He was twice the table tennis champion at MIT, where he got the idea of ball control or touch with the publication of the book Table Tennis Scientific Analyses, for Coaches and Intermediate Players, and graduated with a BS, MS, and ScD majoring in plasma physics for controlled fusion.

He did post-doctoral research at the Courant Institute under Harold Grad, with whose guidance he formulated the Generalized Fluid Description, which provides a correct and usable theoretical foundation for plasma physics. He spent eight years studying philosophy at UC Berkeley under the sponsorship of Paul Feyerabend and Benson Mates. He is the founder of Post-Science Institute and holds the patents (1) "Completely Automated And Self-generating Software System" (SSS) (Patent Number 5,485,601), which establishes a completely automated and permanent standard to replace the current temporary software standards, (2) "Quantitative Supply And Demand Model Based On Infinite Spreadsheet"(Pat. No. 6,078,901), and (3) a pending patent "Jumpulse Devices For Eliminating Bounces"" which will enable the creation of Self-manufacturing General Purpose Robots capable of touching and, thus, replacing all human physical labors. He holds the copyrights to the Infinite Spreadsheet software and to Permanent Integer ID Numbers from minus infinity to plus infinity, an intellectual property based on the Permanent Software. Jumpulse is a new word coined by the late Ta-You Wu, to denote a sudden change of force with the unit 1 wu = 1 newton, while impulse of Newton is a sudden change of momentum. Jumpulse also explains ball control, the ability of a player to keep an impacting ball on a racket for a prolonged period of time and the secret of consistency in sports. The jumpulse research was jointed by Tosiyasu L. Kunii, who founded the Computer Graphics Society with headquarters in Geneva, the Department of Information Science at the University of Tokyo, and the University of Aizu. He also formed the SSS-DNA Team with Kunii, Chitoor V. Ramamoorthy. Kunii, Ram, and Ching have recently written the book Knowledge, scheduled for publication in 2007.
