Speaker: Mr. Lee Winters
Date/Time: Saturday, 11/20/2010, 3:00-4:00PM
Location: Room 308, NPU South Building, 47655 Warm Springs Blvd, Fremont, CA 94539

Abstract:
When students complete their coursework for a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, they will go out and seek employment. That process includes being interviewed by people of different ages and generations. You may be interviewed by someone 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, or 70-years old. Recent graduates are usually members of Generation Y, but their interviewers may be in any generation (Baby Boomers, Generation X or Y). How can you feel prepared and comfortable interviewing with people of other generations? Each generation has its own standards and values and these are reflected in the types of questions they will be asking in the interview process and the types of answers they are looking for. This presentation will give a biographical perspective on all of the current generations in the workforce that you may encounter during the interview process and offer strategies to successfully interview with each. An additional benefit is that you will also be working with people of other generations, so it is good to get a perspective on who they are.
